Are you weighted down and feeling heavy? Then exercise your faith! When I married my husband over twenty years ago, we began to have children and I worked very closely with him in ministry. There were times when I was busy being a mom, wife and a vital helper in ministry, yet I had the desire to earn my doctorate degree after completing my Master’s Degree. Even though there wasn’t enough time in the day, I focused on each season of my life, giving it all I had, by being the best wife, mom, and helper to my husband. I simply became content having the faith that if God placed the desires in my heart, if I continued to please God, by being a good steward serving my husband, children, and ministry, that in my due season God would open the doors and bring my desires to pass.
Today I am happy to say having faith in God does work. When I gave my anxiety and fears to God concerning my desires, He took them and gave me peace to know I can trust Him. Today, I have a PhD in Divinity and working on a second PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy. If you are faithful to God who gave you those desires in the first place, God will be faithful to you. The Word of God says, “Without faith, it is impossible to please Him.” When you activate faith in your life believing that He is your provider, sustainer, keeper, healer, and not doubt in your heart that God will never leave you nor forsake you, it is then you have activated and are exercising real faith. When you activate real faith, it pleases God. In Psalms 37:4, God was clear in letting you know that “He is a rewarder to those who diligently seek Him.” When you activate your faith, you tap into abundant life, meaning you now begin to have more than enough which includes finances, wealth, and good health. (John 1:2)
Don’t allow yourself to get weighted down by the cares of life. Activate the knowledge God has placed in you. I am truly an advocate for continued education and believe knowledge is power. The Word of God says, “My people are destroyed by the lack of knowledge.” This tells you that in all your getting, you need to get knowledge. I am glad I didn’t drop out of school even when I wasn’t interested in what I was studying. I had to use discipline and self-control to make myself study because I knew I would need that information later in life. Always keep yourself in a state of learning because there is so much to know on this great journey called life.
